Who can apply for JEE Main 2027?

Candidates who passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination in 2025 or 2026, or are appearing in 2027, can apply subject to the bulletin’s requirements. Candidates who passed in 2024 or earlier are outside the listed passing-year eligibility. NTA specifies no age limit for appearing; individual institutes may have their own conditions.

How do you apply for JEE Main 2027 Session 1?

  1. Start on the official website. Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in and choose the Session 1 application link.
  2. Complete registration. Follow the portal’s identity and sign-in instructions. The bulletin enables registration through MeriPehchaan, which integrates providers including DigiLocker and JanParichay.
  3. Save your application number. Keep your login information private and accessible for future use.
  4. Fill in your details. Check personal information, academic records, category, selected paper, language and examination-city preferences carefully.
  5. Upload the required files. Follow the current format, size and photograph instructions displayed on the portal.
  6. Review and pay. Use an available online payment method and check the transaction status.
  7. Download the confirmation page. Keep it with your payment receipt and application number.

You may complete the stages at separate times, but a saved draft is not a completed application. Avoid duplicate applications and ensure successful fee payment before the deadline.

What should you keep ready before registering?

Match your name and date of birth across records before entering them. Check the official bulletin for upload specifications; do not rely on file-size instructions from an older exam cycle.

What is the JEE Main 2027 application fee?

The following fees apply to one paper, for one session, at a centre in India. Multiple-paper combinations and overseas centres have separate rates.

CategoryMaleFemale
General₹1,000₹800
Gen-EWS / OBC-NCL₹900₹800
SC / ST / PwD / PwBD₹500₹500
Third gender₹500

Applicable processing charges and GST may be additional. Late applications attract an extra ₹500. Check the full fee table in the official bulletin for your paper combination and examination location.

Which paper and syllabus should you follow?

Paper 1 is for B.E./B.Tech, Paper 2A for B.Arch and Paper 2B for B.Planning. Select the paper that matches your intended programme.

Paper 1 covers Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with 75 questions carrying 300 marks. It includes multiple-choice and numerical-answer questions; it is not an all-MCQ paper. Review the official marking rules before practising.

Download the current syllabus from the NTA website. Build a chapter checklist, practise under timed conditions and review errors after each attempt. Historical chapter weightage can guide revision, but it does not guarantee the questions in your shift.
