What is the new JEE Main 2027 registration advisory?

NTA’s notice dated 28 October 2026 advises candidates to use their own DigiLocker, JanParichay or e-Pramaan credentials and complete DigiLocker Re-KYC before applying. The name and date of birth entered in the application must match the Class 10 certificate or marksheet.

This guide explains the notice, separates the regular deadline from the late-fee period, and gives you a practical review checklist. For broader eligibility and fee information, see our JEE Main 2027 registration guide.

Plan to finish during the regular window. Treat the extra days as a fallback, rather than leaving verification and payment until the final evening.

Three instructions candidates should understand

1. Use your own digital identity account

When signing in through the identity services named in the advisory, use credentials belonging to you. NTA links this advice to avoiding identity and biometric discrepancies at later stages. A parent can help you review the form, but their identity account should not replace yours.

2. Complete DigiLocker Re-KYC before the form

NTA recommends Re-KYC so the registration process can fetch your latest details. Open the official advisory linked above and follow its linked Re-KYC procedure. Use DigiLocker’s official website or app, complete the verification prompts, and inspect the information returned before continuing.

3. Compare your name and date of birth carefully

Use your Class 10 certificate or marksheet as the reference specified by NTA. Read the complete name and date rather than relying on memory or assuming that automatically filled fields are correct.

A practical checklist before you start

The following are College Dostana’s preparation tips, not additional NTA eligibility rules:

  • Keep a reference folder: Put the records you will consult in one place, so you can compare entries without switching between scattered messages and screenshots.
  • Review on a clear screen: Zoom in on names and dates. A quick visual check can miss a transposed digit or an omitted part of a name.
  • Keep account access ready: Make sure you can receive verification messages and access the email address you intend to monitor.
  • Leave time for help: If a record looks wrong, note the exact field and the error message before contacting support.
  • Protect your login: Enter passwords and OTPs yourself. Do not place screenshots containing personal identifiers in public groups.

What if DigiLocker or the application shows a mismatch?

First identify where the difference appears: the school record, your digital identity information, or the application itself. Write down the exact discrepancy. A clear description is more useful to a helpdesk than simply saying that registration is not working.

For DigiLocker account or document-access problems, use the official DigiLocker helpdesk. For the JEE application, NTA lists jeemain@nta.ac.in and telephone numbers 011-40759000 / 011-69227700 in its application notice.

Already submitted your form? Check the saved confirmation page and seek NTA’s guidance if something is incorrect. Do not submit a duplicate application to work around a problem. The bulletin says that only specified fields will be available for correction; do not assume every detail can be edited later.

Before you close the application tab

Take a few minutes for a final review. Is the application number saved? Can you reopen the confirmation page? Have you kept the payment record somewhere easy to find? Set a reminder to revisit official notices instead of relying on forwarded messages.

Once your application is organised, return to preparation with our IIT JEE previous year question papers. Try a timed paper, record mistakes and revisit the concepts that need attention.

Frequently asked questions

Is DigiLocker the only identity option mentioned by NTA?

No. The advisory also names JanParichay and e-Pramaan (MeriPehchaan). Follow the options and instructions displayed in the official application flow.

Does a successful Re-KYC mean my JEE application is complete?

No. Identity verification and submission of the examination application are separate tasks. Complete the form, applicable payment and confirmation-page steps.

Is the ₹500 late fee the full application fee?

No. The bulletin specifies that it is additional to the applicable examination fee.

Can I assume a correction window will fix any mistake?

No. The bulletin limits corrections to specified fields. Review your entries before submitting and consult NTA if you need clarification.
